tvN’s 15th anniversary special project “Melancholia” unveiled its main poster for the first time on the 30th. It contained the images of Lim Soo-jung and Lee Do-hyun.
There is a warm atmosphere. Lim Soo-jung and Lee Do-hyun look at each other warmly in a watercolor-like background. They are also walking through the lush green scenery.
The phrase in the poster also draws attention. “We were immersed in the moment even without answer”, is written. Expectations have already been raised for what story will unfold.
“Melancholia” is a melodrama. Against the backdrop of a private high school, a hotbed of preferential corruption, it depicts a more beautiful story than mathematics, which goes beyond the conventional wisdom and prejudice of math teachers and math geniuses.
It is written by Kim Ji-woon-II and helmed by director Kim Sang-hyeob.
Lim Soo-jung takes on the role of Ji Yoon-soo, a math teacher at Asung High School. She’s a person who awakens the joy of learning itself, not as a means for entrance exams. She feels joy resolving math problems.
Lee Do-hyun acts out math genius Baek Seung-woo. His eyes have no light and he likes to quietly take pictures. He is also the worst student in the school with the lowest grades who has outcast himself from the school, hiding a past.
Meanwhile, “Melancholia” premieres on the 3rd of November at 10:30 PM.
